Ultimate Wheel Repair now offers sandblasting and powder coating at our state-of-the-art wheel repair facility. To prep for powder coating, painted or corroded wheels are stripped of their original finish. Next, the powder material is applied to the wheel with an electrostatic gun. The gun imparts a positive electric charge on the powder, which is then sprayed towards the wheel by compressed air and then accelerated toward the wheel by a powerful electrostatic charge.

Powder Coating vs. Paint
Paint goes on wet and dries in layers. Powder goes on dry and is cured with heat, so it bonds to the wheel as one hard, even shell that stands up better to chips, brake dust, road salt and sand. That matters on New England wheels that spend every winter in salt.
When to Powder Coat Your Wheels
Powder coating is the fix when a painted finish is peeling, flaking or corroded, or when you simply want a new color. Each wheel is stripped and sandblasted down to bare metal first, and bends or cracks can be taken care of at the same time with our rim straightening and welding services.
